Jazmine Sullivan // Holding You Down (Goin’ In Circles)
After her Grammy nominated breakthrough album ‘Fearless’ in 2008, Jazmine Sullivan is back with the first offering from her sophmore effort, with the hot new song ‘Holding You Down (Goin’ In Circles)’.
This song see’s Missy Elliott working her magic once again in the studio, giving us some scratching and shouting over the drum machine led beat. Accompanied with Jazmine’s powerful vocals, a cool 90’s melody and synths towards the end, this throwback tune with a modern twist see’s Jazmine back on form and will hopefully win her a Grammy this time.
After dominating the UK Charts last year, Tinchy Stryder ‘returns’ with the first single from his forthcoming album ‘Third Strike’ with ‘In My System.’
The track features a mega drum machine beating over a 90’s rave beat with almost a house twist towards the end. Jodie Connor sings the chorus and while it isn’t as instant as some of his past hits, this is surely going to catch on.
2010 sees the release of US Pop/Rock/Country singer Jessie James’ sophmore album. Here is the first taster from the album, ‘Boys In The Summer’, a country tinged pop rock effort filled with tongue ‘N’ cheek lyrics and a catchy chorus that will have you singing along in no time!
It’s a fun song to jam to in the summer and gives us a promising glimpse of her second effort. Listen and enjoy.
Power sees Kanye drop the autotune in preparation for his 5th studio album which is tentatively titled ‘Good Ass Job.’ This presumably buzz single, before the lead single drops is a massive drum lead truck and if it is anything to go by this will be a great album.
Listen and enjoy. Let’s hope Yeezy brings it with his 5th effort.
'Who's Gonna Love You' is the amazing rumoured first single from underrated R&B singer Amerie's 4th album “Cymatica Vol. 1”. It is a hot track which sees Amerie in familiar territory as the track sees Amerie singing over a predominantly drum lead track similarly to 'Why R U', but with extra synths in this throwback tune.
The song is amazing, but sadly not hit material. It’s glad to see Amerie stick to her guns and not sell out as this song is amazing. I just hope she get’s success this time around.
